Note that most of the streets around the workshop site are pedestrian
and most of the interesting points are at walking distance from there.
Local info
Palencia is the capital city of the province with same name, which
belongs to the Castilla
y León region. The city is
located midway between Madrid and the north coast and its main
touristic
attractions (apart from being quite peaceful) are:
- Several religious buildings, including a remarkable
cathedral and
the third
biggest Christ statue in the world
- Some examples of architecture inspired by the catalan
Modernisme, mostly around the Main Street.
- Food, including:
- Cheese, specially from goat and/or sheep milk.
- "Lechazo" (young lamb).
- Wine from Ribera del Duero and Rueda.
